2 Small Changes That Will Guarantee Fat Loss

Losing weight is many times not even about food. Heck, it most often is not even about exercise.

The secret to losing weight and keeping it off is truly about one thing...

HABITS.

I could probably write an entire weight loss book on the best lifestyle habits to guarantee permanent fat loss, but instead, today, I am going to give you 2 changes (possibly 2 challenges for some) that I know will absolutely make an incredible difference in your fat loss efforts and your health.

Fat loss Habit #1 - Sit down to eat your meal.

Sit Down Meal

Starting today, make a promise to yourself that unless you are sitting down, you cannot eat. I implemented this principle into my life after I had children when I found myself just shoveling things into my mouth while taking care of my kid’s needs.

I know, I know. You’re thinking it's nearly impossible to sit for even 1 second. But as a mom of 2 kids under the age of 4, I can assure you, you can do it.

Even if it's only 5 minutes, do not eat unless your butt is planted in a chair (stools, benches, and even couches are also acceptable).

Fat loss Habit #2 - Do not pick!

I know every parent out there knows exactly what I’m talking about here. You pick while you cook, you pick off your kid’s plate, you pick at snacks at work...all of that picking adds up FAST!

I stopped "picking" quite some time ago when I first began a food journal. It was such a rude awakening for me to write down all the little "bites" I had consumed throughout the day, without even realizing it!

Now, I don’t pick no matter what! The only exception here is to taste a recipe before it is complete, but other than that, I have a hard fast rule against picking at food.

My challenge for you today and for the rest of this week is to implement these 2 simple HABITS into your life...

1. Sit down when eating all of your meals (even snacks), even if it is just for 5 minutes.

2. No more picking! Unless it is served on your plate (and you are sitting down, of course), it does not go in your mouth.
