To Juice or Not to Juice...

Having children has taught me so much, but never did I think it would challenge me so much as a nutritionist.

I pride myself on being the type of nutritionist who loves to learn and continues to educate herself in different areas, but my kids have definitely required me to take my learning to a whole new level.

A great example is when my now 4 year old decided he no longer wanted to eat many vegetables. Where he used to devour huge "trees" of broccoli, literally overnight, he no longer wanted anything to do with it. Same goes for sweet potatoes. He used to shovel sweet potato fries faster than I could make them and now I get a big "no thanks" when they are served.

So what's a mom to do?

The first thing I did was turn into a master of deception and began hiding vegetables in things like meatballs, popsicles and even home made Jell-O (brilliant, I know!)

But that still didn't seem like enough nutrition from veggies for my growing boys, so I decided to start looking into juicing vegetables.

I will admit that I have shunned juicing in the past. The reason being that it just didn't make any sense to me to totally take out all the fiber in vegetables and just drink the juice.

Thankfully, in my intense search, I was able to find one of the best and brightest health coaches who is an expert on juicing. I found his Facebook page which was loaded with client testimonials all showing these incredible before and after weight loss transformations...all because of juicing!

This was definitely worth further investigation.

I contacted Drew immediately and he was so kind and generous and offered to teach me all I needed and wanted to know about juicing.

What a gift that has been! And not just for me, but also for my children and my husband as we have all incorporated juicing into our already-healthy Beyond Diet lifestyle.

  • Incorporating juicing into your eating plan can be simple and easy...you just have to know the right methods and use some simple, time-saving tips.
  • Juicing is perfect for those people who just can not stand the taste of wonderful veggies like kale, collards or spinach (this would be someone like my husband or kids). You can benefit from the properties of those foods while masking their taste with other foods like carrots and apples.
  • Juicing is perfect for those stuck in a weight loss plateau or for those who may need to jump start or accelerate their fat loss.
  • Juicing can transform lives. If you haven't done so already, I highly recommend you watch the documentary Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead...it is incredible!
